Our advisory board, composed of 9 academic experts in their own field, supports and gives invaluable feedback to the project’s researcher.

Tarjei Bekkedal has been affiliated to the Oslo Faculty of Law since 1998 and became Professor of Law at the Centre for European Law in 2015. Next to He has been a member of the Faculty of Law since 1998 and his expertise includes administrative, family and media law. Recognised for his extensive publications, he’s involved in national and international research projects and previously advised the Ministry of Culture.

John Garry is Professor for Political Behaviour Professor at Queen’s University Belfast and head of The Democracy Unit with a focus on democratic theory and behaviour. His research encompasses electoral and deliberative democracy and is widely published in peer reviewed academic journals. He has led multiple ESRC grants, notably on Northern Ireland’s Assembly Election and the impact of Brexit.

Xavier Groussot is professor for EU Law at Lund University, serves as Pro-Dean and Director of the MA European Business law, in which subject he also leads the first ever MOOC. He is guest professor at Université Panthéon-Assas and University of Reykjavik. His research interests include constitutional and procedural law, federalism, and rule of law in Europe.

Simonida Kacarska (PhD Leeds, MA Sussex European Institute) is Director of the European Policy Institute, Skopje (Macedonia). Formerly in Macedonia’s Secretariat for European Affairs, she has obtained research fellowships at esteemed academic institutions and provided expert services to organizations such as the Council of Europe and the EU Commission.

Kristina Koldinská, at Charles University since 1997, full professor since 2019, specialises in labour law, social security law and EU social law. Her research and publications focus on gender equality, EU social law and social security coordination. She is Member of several EU funded projects, notably MoveS and serves on the EU Commission’s gender/non-discrimination networks.

Irine Kurdadze is an esteemed legal scholar and educator with extensive experience in international law and human rights. She serves as Director of the International Law Institute at TSU, contributing significantly to legal education and policy development in Georgia. She holds a PhD in Public International Law and has a rich background in academia, government, and international organizations.

Niamh Nic Shuibhne is Professor for EU Law and Co-Director of the Europa Institute at the University of Edinburgh, Joint Editor of Common Market Law Review and on the editorial board of the European Law Review. Her research delves into substantive EU law from a constitutional viewpoint, focusing on freedom of movement and EU citizenship. Her current research focuses on the EU legal system’s integrity from a functional perspective.

Ann Numhauser-Henning, acclaimed for research in European labour law and migrant workers’ rights, co-founded Lund University’s Norma Research Programme in 1996. Notably, she launched the Norma Elder Law Research Environment in 2012, served as Pro Vice-Chancellor, and received The Bob Hepple Award for Lifetime Achievement in Labour Law in 2019. Her influence spans legal scholarship and societal challenges.

Lina Papadopoulou (PhD Hanover, MsC LSE, MA Hellenic Open University) is a Professor of Constitutional Law at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece, and a Jean Monnet Chair for “European Constitutional Law and Culture”. Research projects she has led / contributed to encompass the €, democracy and the EU’s democratic legitimacy and ”Identities on the Move – Documents cross borders”. She currently contributes to a pan EU project on avoiding invisible LGBTQ discrimination in education.
